These two books by Peter Turnham are among the very best WWII novels I have read. Through the eyes of Lily, a girl from London’s East End, her friends and co-workers, the reader will experience the horrors and triumphs on a personal level.
The historical facts blend and are explained through the reactions and emotions of people you will grow to know so well that you share their experiences on a visceral level.
Praise for these works drains the vocabulary of superlatives.
I highly recommend these two masterpieces and I anxiously await another.
