Hypnotic! Could not stop reading these books. Great characterisation. Gave a history lesson for all of us to learn. And good insight into people who lived through this terrible war.
On my list of favourite contemporary authors! I must confess that I read the 1st novel in this series without knowing anything about the author. I was blown away to discover that the author is a man, believing that only a woman would be able to so convincingly portray this protagonist. I was reluctant to even start the book, as I have read so many WW2 novels and even discussed with my book club members that it was getting pretty tiresome. Bravo Mr Turnham! This is a brilliant account of that conflict and it touched me deeply. You are now on my list of favourite contemporary authors. J Grimes
“None Stood Taller, The Price of Freedom”. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, during my second reading! Its underlying message of the price of freedom is so current in today’s society (2024). Its final question asking how much you are willing to do for your country’s freedom is particularly thought-provoking and an essential question which every freedom-loving citizen must ask themselves. Through the story the author helps the reader understand the consequences of how one answers. I recommend this book be read and discussed by every school age child as it might help reveal the cost of true freedom – and what is real freedom! Sad to say many of today’s youth are not aware of what true freedom is or what the price of its loss will be.

Each girl has a story of tell; they were so brave in different ways. I’ve recommended them to my friends and am looking forward to your next one.
These 3 books have had me totally enthralled. It was a roller coaster of emotion. The characters almost became family as you followed them through all their journey. I feel quite sad to come to the end but I will certainly follow this author.
I have just finished reading the series of “None Stood Taller” and I cannot describe how wonderful they are. The best stories I’ve ever read about WWII. You brought it to life with the characters and by following the real history that happened! I was born after the War on a farm in Tennessee, USA, and have read many books set in that time period.

I have read all 3 books in the None Stood Taller series. I don’t usually do book reviews but I was compelled to congratulate you on 3 excellent books. They have kept me enthralled. I read mainly war novels and autobiographies of that time as they are some of the best ways of learning our history and not forgetting it and realising what so many gave for our freedom. Your books are amongst the best I have read and perhaps take top slot. Thank you so much. I look forward to reading the next series.
